History and Art

This land is rich in art and history: the Baratti Necropolis, the only Etruscan city built by the sea, and the Borgo di Populonia make up the archeological park ‘Parco Archeologico di Baratti e Populonia‘ and the ‘Parco Archeo-Minerario San Silvestro’ park located in Campiglia Marittima.

The Etruscan Coast was the birthplace of Mascagni, Modigliani and Carducci, whose writings celebrated the streets of Bolgheri. Nearby are San Gimignano and Volterra. Must sees are Livorno, Siena and Grosseto, with its Archaeological and Art Museum of Maremma.

Sport: Sea and Nature

The Etruscan Coast is beautiful even out of season for water sports: diving, fishing, sailing, surfing, kite-surfing, windsurfing, SUP – Stand Up Paddling – and nautical excursions. Take advantage of 12 months of mild weather to sail to the Island of Elba, Capraia and Gorgona. Embark from Marina di San Vincenzo and Piombino.

The province of Livorno is the land of cyclists; it’s well equipped for your cycling itineraries and mountain bike routes and for hiking or horse riding. Take advantage of the 8 kilometers of free beach for long strolls. There are many sports centers that are ready to welcome teams for both competitive activities and relaxation.
